The Shoot
When Amy from Amore Coordination asked if we’d be interested in creating the florals for this festive, romantic styled shoot at Viola Schoolhouse, we jumped at the opportunity! We were just wrapping up a very busy wedding season and were excited to work our creative muscles in a different way.
The Venue
The Viola Schoolhouse is a historic building in Estacada, OR that is currently being used for community events, photoshoots, and micro weddings. The candy-apple red exterior against the backdrop of greenery give this little schoolhouse the perfect balance of vintage charm + Pacific Northwest beauty. It was an ideal location to create a winter wedding styled shoot but we could easily envision having an event here during any season.
The Flowers
For the florals, we wanted to create something elegant and thematic without being too Christmas-y. We chose Oregon-grown red lilies, deep red roses, burgundy chrysanthemums, silver dollar eucalyptus, and multiple varieties of evergreen for the bridal bouquet, cake flowers, and table arrangements. For the backdrop, we made flower strings of chrysanthemums and carnations to hang in front of the drapes and an evergreen and eucalyptus garland for the corner of the frame. The light from the windows helped add softness and depth to the floral backdrop in a wonderful way.
The Vendors
We loved getting the opportunity to work with some of our favorite vendors. It’s a fun way for us to show off our talents and support each other. Everyone’s contribution really helps bring the vision to life!
